Standing Together
I don't use my social media as a platform, not because I don't care but lately I haven't had the mental strength to do so. I'm not using my pregnancy as an excuse, but to get mentally and emotionally fired up wouldn't be so appropriate, not to mention healthy to either one of us. My deepest condolences go out to the Floyd family. My sympathy also goes out to the officers family who has been ridiculed for his unspeakable and heinous crime.
I'm sure the hurt, disbelief, and embarrassment they feel right now to someone who is supposed to protect us from such violence is unbearable. I know we can all easily look past his family during this time, and that's okay, it's your opinion, but I know that this woman is deeply traumatized for what transpired.
I've always looked at people not due to their skin color, but for who they were as a person. To look deeply is to look deep within ourselves. I mean who doesn't want to be looked at not for the color of their skin, but for what they have contributed to society, whether it is a small selfless act of holding the door, saying hello to neighbors, or help feed the poor.
I know that's what I want to be recognized for. I swore on myself and individuals looking up to me that I will always do good in this world, and not just to others but to myself. It starts with you, people. Looking deep within, loving yourself for your mistakes, your past, and anything else that you might not be so proud of. When we can look deep within ourselves, we can look deep within others and find the gold in their hearts.
My mom instilled in us that " I don't care if you're blue, black, purple, white, or green, you treat everyone the way you want to be treated." I'm sure all of us have heard this saying, in one way or another at some point in our lives. I mean even Aretha Franklin wrote the song "Respect." I know all of us have heard that song as well. But its true folks!!
You want to gain respect, you need to earn it! I mean the difference in our society, if everyone lost their ego, and saw the good in others. There would be no violence, no protests, no color versus color. Now I'm not saying that they will fix the imperfections of this world, but one step at a time.
We all want world peace right?! I mean we scream it all the time, hence why we try and do peaceful protests. When we all collectively come together and use the good in all of us, magical things happen! In the book Becoming Supernatural written by Dr. Joe Dispenza, he discusses this matter.
When people all overcome together, meditate, and use their consciousness to instill peace and prosperity, there is such a shift in energy, you can't help but feel it! That's why we do mass mediations sometimes! Because they work people!!! Just as much violence and rage that we can energize, we can do the same when it comes to love, peace, and happiness.
During tough times like this, it's easy to point the finger and blame others, but we need to all stand for what's right. Standing together will make us all-powerful and eventually will bring world peace. Now I don't have the answers to everything, this is just my personal opinion on this matter, but we need to all be the change we seek.
When we take personal responsibility on such a sensitive matter, we can not only become stronger collectively, but we will start to see the shift before our eyes. The reason violence continues is that people aren't in the right mindset. Violence is not the answer here folks, and we all know it! We preach about it all the time, yet it still happens. Now of course we can blame the violent offenders and they need to be brought to justice, but it should stop right there.
When we communicate our opinions in an appropriate manner, we can get our point across easier. I mean how many times have you argued with someone, and just thought "I should give up, there not listening to my message?"We need to learn to respect each other's opinions, and listen to understand, not to reply. That's how we can all effectively become one, as a society. I hope when my children grow up, the world will be more at peace, but we need to be their idols, and show them how to express themselves freely and appropriately.
The bottom line is, in order for us to do better, we need to BE better! I said this in another post of mine, but I feel it is necessary to elaborate on it because it's true. Let's be the change for our kids, our neighbors, friends, family, and the world. Let's all set the example because we ALL have the capability to do such thing! Let's stand together as one because we are all one! We all are perfect individuals who have an opportunity to make things right. Let's stand together for not only us, but for our generations to come!
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace." - Jimi Hendrix.
