Reflecting On Last Month

Another chapter closes as we head into the month of August! Wow! Where did the summer go by? Oh, right we all had to be on lockdown lol. What a time to be alive! Did you try and make the best of it? Did you work on yourself in any way?

This month was all about taking personal responsibility for my actions. I have been struggling with a few things that are completely in my control, but back then I didn't realize the hole I had dug until one day I had to be honest with myself about what I needed to work on. I am so thankful I have a supportive partner who not only understands but tries and guides me in the right direction when I veer left too much.  Its really not about how many people you have in your corner but who will step up and help you move in the right direction.

I don't know about you but July felt like such a long month for me! Each week I am little more restless when it comes to meeting my little girl, regular check-ups, I've learned now not to wish it away and soak up each minute of pregnancy because December is right here! I am so happy we were fortunate enough to go to Chicago for some time apart from the craziness, and relax. Even though we were staying in the city, it was so chill compared to NYC. It was super clean, quiet and you can feel the peacefulness among everyone.

Our hotel was near a beach and every night, either throughout the daytime or before the sunset, we would go down there and sit, soak in the beautiful view and connect like we had just met again. It was amazing to go somewhere different and take in the new sights. Crazy to think that happened a few weeks ago, it feels like forever already!

We only have 5 weeks of summer left and then fall will be here! Fall is my favorite season. The season of change! Watching the colors of the leaves reshape into yellow and red, the heat slowly transitions into that cool crisp weather, I can't wait!! I've always liked summer but this summer has been so hot, and with being pregnant my body can't take it sometimes.

Enough about me. I wanted to write this post because it's always good to reflect back on the month and view how much growth we all have gone through. Whether it's you working on something that you've always wanted to, or you're letting go of a negative habit, whatever improvements and growth you've made throughout July, please find the time and thank yourself for all your hard work and dedication!! Even if you didn't significantly change anything, don't beat yourself up, we all evolve at our own time. Some days are harder than others but every day is a new opportunity for change!

As we go into the new month of August, take the first few days and reflect on what you can do differently this month. Whether it's continuing to pursue your goals, start a new habit, or practice gratitude more often, find a goal, and commit to it!

Commit to it all month and then at the end of August, look back at how evolved you have become! When we reach our goals or continue to climb up the latter of success, we become invincible! Completing short-term goals will have you eager to go after more!

Welcome in the new month with open arms and a "yes I can" attitude!
